Frequently Asked Questions
Why should I use a Insurance Intermediary?
Using an insurance intermediary, also known as an insurance agent or broker, can offer several advantages when you’re looking for insurance coverage. Here are some reasons why you might want to consider using an insurance intermediary:
- Cost Savings: We are paid by the insurance companies, whether you go directly or through us the premiums are always exactly the same. Moreoverour ability to find the most cost-effective policies and prevent costly coverage mistakes can potentially result in long-term cost savings.
- Expertise and Guidance: Insurance intermediaries are trained professionals who have in-depth knowledge of the insurance industry. They can help you understand different insurance products, coverage options, and policy terms. Their expertise can be especially valuable when you’re navigating complex insurance policies, such as those for business, health, or specialized coverage like professional liability or cyber insurance.
- Tailored Recommendations: Insurance intermediaries work on your behalf to assess your unique insurance needs and find policies that best fit your requirements. They can recommend coverage levels, policy features, and insurance companies that align with your specific situation, helping you avoid overpaying for unnecessary coverage or being underinsured.
- Access to Multiple Insurance Carriers: Insurance brokers typically have relationships with multiple insurance companies and access to a wide range of insurance products. This means they can provide you with quotes and options from various insurers, giving you a broader choice and potentially better pricing.
- Time and Convenience: Insurance can be a time-consuming process, involving research, comparison shopping, and paperwork. Insurance intermediaries can streamline this process for you by doing the legwork, saving you time and effort. They can also assist with policy administration, claims, and renewals, making your insurance experience more convenient.
- Advocacy and Claims Assistance: In the event of a claim, an insurance intermediary can act as your advocate, helping you navigate the claims process and ensuring that you receive the compensation you’re entitled to. They can also provide guidance on how to document and report a claim properly.
- Personalized Service: Insurance intermediaries often provide personalized service and maintain ongoing relationships with their clients. They can periodically review your insurance portfolio to ensure it remains aligned with your changing needs and circumstances, making adjustments as necessary.
- Compliance and Legal Requirements: Insurance intermediaries are typically well-versed in the regulatory and legal requirements associated with insurance. They can help you stay compliant with state or federal insurance laws and ensure that your policies meet all necessary obligations.
It’s important to note that there are different types of insurance intermediaries, including insurance agents who represent specific insurance companies and insurance brokers who work independently and may represent multiple insurers. When choosing an insurance intermediary, consider their qualifications, reputation, and the services they offer to ensure they align with your insurance needs and preferences. Ultimately, the decision to use an insurance intermediary depends on your individual circumstances and the complexity of your insurance requirements.
Is the premium more expensive?
No. This is very easy to answer, ou services are 100% FREE. Our premiums come directly from the insurers, there cannot be any difference in premium. You’ll also still pay the insurer directly, you will not pay us. The insurer does of course give us a % on the premium on the premium, which are on average around 10 to 15%. If you go directly with the insurer, this 10% to 15% will then go to the insurer. By Thai law the maximum commissions earned by an broker is 18%, but again this commission is build in into the premium, even if you go directly.
Can I still contact the insurance company directly?
Yes, you also still pay the insurance company directly. We are here to support you throughout your policy year on how to deal with the insurer.

Which insurer does cover pre-existing conditions?
The most flexible insurers when it comes to medical underwriting are Allianz, April, Aetna, Cigna, Pacific Cross and LUMA in Thailand. However it really depends on the severity of the pre-existing condition whether they will accept it yes or no, they also can increase the premium or exclude specific conditions.
Insurers have multiple ways of underwriting, most common and most save for the client is Full Medical Underwriting (FMU), as here your full medical history will be underwritten and then the insurer provide you with an offer which you then can decline or accept. This way you wont have any surprised later on in the policy.
Another popular way of underwriting is Moratorium (MOR), this basically means that no pre-existing conditions will be covered for a specific period of time (mostly two year). After this period, they will consider covering it.
Which insurer will cover me for life?
Private health insurance policies in Thailand, like in many other countries, typically do not provide coverage for your entire life. Most health insurance policies have specific terms and coverage periods, which can vary depending on the insurance provider and the type of policy you choose.
In Thailand, health insurance policies are often renewable on an annual basis, and you can continue to renew your policy as long as you pay the premiums and meet the insurer’s eligibility criteria. However, there may be limitations on the age at which you can purchase or renew certain policies, and premiums may increase as you get older.
Which insurer is the best for pregnant woman?
Determining the best insurer for maternity cover in Thailand depends on several factors. Couple of important aspects, are you currently pregnant or are you planning? Your age, and history of pregancies. How would you like to be covered? Which hsopital would you like ot deliver? etc. etc.

To find the best one for you, compare coverage, cost, network of hospitals, waiting periods, customer reviews, and additional benefits. Contact insurers for quotes and consult with an insurance broker for personalized guidance.
